Laporta's New Trip to the Middle East… Aiming to Boost Barcelona’s Revenue!
According to journalist Luis Rojo, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta traveled to the Middle East this week in an effort to secure new sources of income for the club. During his visit, he met with several investors interested in sponsoring and financially supporting Barcelona.
Following the successful sale of VIP boxes for €100 million last December, Laporta is now actively searching for new buyers to purchase the remaining boxes, aiming to strengthen the club’s financial resources.
Regarding the previous deal, Barcelona’s management remains confident and is not concerned about a repeat of the Barça Studios situation, where Libero failed to make its payments. Despite La Liga’s concerns about the company that purchased the VIP boxes—given that it was only established in November and has no prior business activity apart from this deal—the club has no fears, as it has already received the funds from the transaction.
Laporta’s efforts are not limited to selling stadium seating options; he is also working to secure new sponsorship deals of various kinds. His goal is to increase the club’s revenue, ultimately providing greater financial flexibility and improving Barcelona’s position within Financial Fair Play regulations
