Tebas Renews Criticism of Real Madrid Over Referee Attacks

Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish La Liga, has renewed his criticism of Real Madrid over the club's ongoing attacks on referees in recent times.

In statements reported by "Mundo Deportivo", Tebas said:

"What is happening is an insult to the other clubs... When a team beats Real Madrid, it's not because they're the better team, but because the referee intentionally blew the whistle against them!"

Tebas also added regarding the club’s comments:

"To say that La Liga is corrupt is a serious matter. We have reported this to the competition authority, and it causes a lot of harm."

Criticism of Fede Valverde’s Tweet

Tebas was asked about a tweet from Federico Valverde, Real Madrid’s midfielder, who stated before the Manchester City match in the Champions League that he respected referees. However, Valverde later retracted his statement and confirmed via his account on X (formerly Twitter) that they were suffering from refereeing in La Liga.

In this regard, Tebas said:

"I only ask Valverde about the message he gave in the press conference, which he had to quickly correct... I want to ask him what happened to him and made him talk about this topic, then change his words in a tweet."

Attempts to Push Players Toward a Nonexistent Conspiracy

The La Liga president continued:

"They are trying to push every Real Madrid player, from the players to the coaches, into adopting a nonexistent conspiracy theory."

Tebas added:

"For me, they (Real Madrid) are always crying. Because when they win, it’s because they put in the effort and fought against the forces of good and evil... and when they lose, it’s because there was a refereeing conspiracy against them."

Embarrassment Over the Club's Actions

Tebas concluded:

"I’m starting to feel embarrassed about what I experienced as a Real Madrid fan... the club has never cried like this."
