Theo Hernandez's Red Card Hands Feyenoord a Spot in the UEFA Champions League Last 16

AC Milan has exited the UEFA Champions League after drawing 1-1 with Feyenoord at San Siro in the second leg of the playoff round. The Rossoneri were eliminated after losing 2-1 on aggregate, having fallen 1-0 in the first leg at Feyenoord's De Kuip stadium. First Half: Early Goal and Missed Chances The match started explosively, with Santiago Giménez putting AC Milan ahead just 40 seconds into the game. A corner kick was delivered into the box, and Theo Hernandez headed it toward the six-yard line, allowing Giménez to nod it home for an early lead. Feyenoord responded quickly, with Mölder testing the Milan defense with a powerful shot that sailed over the crossbar in the 7th minute. Moments later, Renard had a chance to double the lead but his long-range effort went wide, and the offside flag was raised shortly after. In the 18th minute, João Félix received a through ball from Giménez and unleashed a fierce shot that went over the bar. However, the most dangerous moment of the half came from Theo Hernandez , who cut inside from the left flank and unleashed a thunderous strike that rattled the post and went out. Before halftime, Rafael Leão nearly doubled Milan's advantage after receiving a pass from João Félix. His low shot was saved by Feyenoord goalkeeper Wellenreuther , keeping the visitors in the game. Unfortunately, Theo's reckless challenge on Haj Musa earned him a yellow card, setting the stage for a dramatic second half. Second Half: Theo's Red Card Changes the Game The second half began with Milan creating two quick chances. Theo Hernandez set up João Félix, but the attempt was blocked by a defender. The rebound fell to Walker , whose powerful shot was saved by Wellenreuther. However, disaster struck for Milan in the 51st minute when Theo Hernandez received his second yellow card for simulation inside the penalty area. The referee showed no hesitation in sending him off, leaving Milan to play the remainder of the match with 10 men. With the numerical advantage, Feyenoord pushed forward relentlessly. In the 70th minute, Melambo came close with a header that narrowly missed the target. Three minutes later, the visitors equalized through substitute Julian Caranza . A pinpoint cross from Hugo Bueno found Caranza unmarked in the box, and he powered a header past Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan . Final Push: Milan's Desperation Falls Short Desperate to salvage the tie, Milan threw everything forward. João Félix delivered a free-kick into the box, but Theo's replacement, Thiaw , could only direct his header straight at Wellenreuther. Despite their efforts, Milan couldn't find a winner, and the match ended 1-1. With the aggregate score at 2-1, Feyenoord secured their place in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, while AC Milan bowed out in front of their home fans.
